Giving them back to the place that mattered

Some people didn't want to be kept. They wanted to be returned, to the trees, the soil, the quiet of the forest floor. If you are looking for a way to scatter ashes that reflects who your loved one truly was, this scattering tube was made for exactly that moment.

How the 'Forest' scattering tube works

The 'Forest' ashes scattering tube is made up of two nesting tubes with a removable outer lid. Beneath that sits a second lid with a pre-perforated opening, and that detail is deliberate. It allows the ashes to be released at a steady, controlled pace, even when the moment is overwhelming and your hands are unsteady. The tube contains no metal or plastic components. After use it can be recycled, or buried whole, so that the paper gradually breaks down and the ashes are absorbed into the ground over time.

Returning them to what they loved

The scattering tube is available in several colours, so you can choose whichever feels right for the person you are missing. The 'Forest' design carries its own meaning. A forest speaks of return, of natural cycles, of life continuing quietly beyond what we can see. If your loved one felt at home in nature, loved walking, or found peace among the trees, this design gives something of that back, not just as a symbol but as a literal act, on the ground they knew and loved. The tube can also be kept afterwards as a memento, with or without ashes inside.

For scattering and for burial

You can use this scattering tube to release ashes at a chosen location, or you can bury it whole. If buried, the paper decomposes naturally over time and the ashes are slowly returned to the earth. Both uses are suitable for indoor and outdoor settings, and neither leaves behind any trace of metal or plastic.

Practical care and peace of mind

Paper is a thoughtful material for this purpose, and it does ask one thing of you before the day arrives: keep the tube dry and upright until it is needed. The construction is robust enough for transport and for use in a ceremony, but moisture will weaken it, so store it carefully in the meantime. Once used, there is nothing to dispose of responsibly. The tube returns to the earth the same way it was made, biodegradable, clean, and without residue.

Adding something personal

If you would like to personalise the tube, a handwritten note placed alongside the ashes at the moment of scattering or burial can carry a name, a date, or the words you couldn't say aloud. Simple as that is, it often means a great deal. If you are unsure which colour to choose, we are happy to help you find one that feels right for the person you are remembering.
