Others are looking for a completely new object, developed from the first sketch to the finished urn, piece of jewellery or memorial monument. The most important thing is that the design is technically possible, suitable for its intended use and appropriate for the place where it will be kept or installed.

How does custom-made work proceed?

A custom-made memorial needs care. That is why we work in clear steps. This helps you understand what is possible, which decisions need to be made and when costs arise. Not every idea can be reproduced exactly, but through careful assessment we can usually determine which form, material and workshop are most suitable.

1. Send your wish, idea or example

The process begins with your idea. You can send us a sketch, photograph, description, symbol, material example or personal story. Even if your wish is not yet fully developed, we can explore together which direction is realistic.

Thanks to our network of more than 100 artists and specialist workshops, we can assess many different styles and materials, from classic to modern, from discreet to artistic, and from ceramic and glass to natural stone, bronze, stainless steel or precious metal.

2. First assessment, design direction and cost indication

Based on your information, we check which execution may be possible and which artist or workshop could be suitable. If the idea is realistic, you will receive an initial assessment. In many cases, a rough sketch, material direction or comparable example can be discussed.

This first stage is about finding out whether your wish can be achieved technically, visually and financially. For this initial orientation, we usually do not charge production costs. Only if you want to continue to the next step will the design be worked out in more detail.

3. Final design, price and delivery time

Once the direction is right, the design is made more specific. Shape, dimensions, material, engraving, text, colour, surface, symbolism and technical details can be discussed. For jewellery, we also consider size, comfort, finish and possible personalisation. For urn monuments, memorial stones or cemetery memorials, site rules, material thickness and installation may also play a role.

Before production starts, you receive a clear summary with the final price, expected delivery time and relevant details. Engravings, names, dates and text should be checked very carefully at this stage. The item will only be made after your approval.

4. Creation, quality check and delivery

After approval, the custom-made item is commissioned. Many individual urns, jewellery pieces and memorial objects are made by hand. Because of this, production can take several weeks. With more complex work, intermediate sketches or photographs from the production process may sometimes be possible.

Once the item is finished, it is checked and then shipped, or in the case of larger objects, delivered by arrangement. For urn monuments, memorial stones or larger memorials, delivery, placement and possible cemetery or churchyard requirements must be agreed separately.

Which information helps with a custom-made memorial?

The more clearly you describe your wish, the better we can assess the possibilities. You do not need a finished design. A few notes, images or keywords are often enough to find the right direction.

With custom-made work, the material determines not only the appearance, but also the price, care, weight, delivery time and suitable place of use. An urn for indoor placement can have different properties from an urn for a cemetery, churchyard or sheltered outdoor setting. How long does custom-made work take?

The delivery time depends on the material, workshop, scope and approval process. For many custom-made items, you should allow an average delivery time of around six weeks. Simple engravings may be faster, while complex artist work, stonemasonry or precious metal jewellery can take longer.

We will look for an alternative solution with you. Sometimes a different material, adjusted shape or other technique can achieve a similar result.
