Each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands by skilled craftspeople working with sheet bronze, cut, bent and welded into its final shape. That process takes time and demands real expertise. Bronze does not degrade and needs no routine maintenance. What you receive is an object built to last.

Patina finish: each urn is its own

Once shaped, every urn receives a coloured patina applied by hand. Because this process behaves differently on each piece, no two urns are identical. You can choose between green and brown. The green patina gives the urn a classic, natural character that becomes more even over the years. The brown patina is sealed with a light wax layer that halts oxidisation and preserves the rich depth of the bronze.

Suited to indoor and outdoor placement

Bronze is naturally weather-resistant, which makes this urn for ashes equally at home indoors on a shelf or outside in a garden. The material itself needs little from you. The patina finish is where a small amount of care comes in.

Caring for the finish by colour

Green patina: wipe with a soft cloth, water and mild soap. Do not scrub. The layer is delicate and will gradually even out in colour over time. Brown patina used outdoors: refresh the wax layer at least once every two years using beeswax, applied with a cloth, left to absorb, then buffed out. This keeps the colour consistent and the surface protected. Brown patina used indoors: keeping it free of dust is all that is needed.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything you need to fill the urn is included. The urn is designed for use with an ash bag. To seal it, a high-bond double-sided tape is provided, rated to withstand significant pull force. The steps are straightforward: place the ash bag loosely inside the urn with a portion left outside to act as a funnel, pour the ashes in, close the bag with the cable tie provided and tuck it fully into the opening. Clean the inner rim carefully with the cloth included, making sure it is free of dust, grease and moisture. Remove the protective film from the base cap and press it firmly into the rim in one smooth movement. A correctly seated cap will sit flush with the base. If you would prefer, the crematorium or funeral director can fill the urn on your behalf. Should the urn ever need to be reopened for any reason, a technician can do that for you.

Delivery and lead time

Because each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands, please allow four to six weeks for delivery. In many cases dispatch is possible sooner, but we quote six weeks to give you a realistic expectation.
