When the sea is the right place to say goodbye
Some farewells belong on open water. If the person you have lost had a connection to the sea, or if you feel that wide, open space is simply where they should be, a burial at sea deserves an urn that is equal to that choice.
Hand-airbrushed finish in sand with a golden stripe
This cremation urn is hand-airbrushed using water-based, environmentally considerate paint. The sand colour references the shoreline, the place where land gives way to water, which carries its own quiet significance for a sea burial. The golden stripe gives the urn a gentle dignity that suits the occasion. Because each urn is worked individually, no two are exactly alike.
Made from Tonolith-Anhydrit: a material with a purpose
The material is not incidental. Tonolith-Anhydrit is derived from anhydrite, the unhydrated form of gypsum with the chemical formula CaSO4, formed through the natural compaction of gypsum deposits. On contact with water it dissolves gradually and breaks down completely within a matter of days. Nothing is left behind, no residue, no environmental impact, nothing that should not be there.
A burial that unfolds as nature intends
The urn is placed in the water using the rope that comes with it, at whatever pace feels right to you. It floats briefly at the surface before settling beneath. That moment of release is visible and unhurried. It does not happen all at once.
Practical care before the burial
Until the day of the burial at sea, keep this urn somewhere dry indoors. Tonolith-Anhydrit is sensitive to moisture, so avoid bathrooms, cellars or any room prone to humidity. Stored correctly, the urn will hold its shape and colour fully intact. The hand-airbrushed finish remains undisturbed for as long as the urn is kept away from water before use. A rope for placement is included with the urn, so everything you need for a considered, dignified lowering is already there.
Returning to the water
If the sea was somewhere your loved one felt at home, or if open water simply reflects who they were, this choice goes beyond the practical. It is a gesture that speaks to the person themselves. The sand colour and golden stripe give this urn for ashes its own quiet character, one that holds that meaning rather than merely suggesting it.
