A place that holds their face, and holds it well

Choosing a memorial for an ashes grave is not a small decision. You are looking for something that reflects who your loved one was, that suits the place where they rest, and that preserves the memory in a way that feels right. This granite monument, with a glass panel carrying a colour or black-and-white photograph, gives that place a face. Quite literally.

Granite and glass: two materials chosen for good reason

Granite is one of the heaviest and most durable natural stones used in memorial work. Quarried from the earth's crust, cut into blocks and shaped by skilled stonemasons, it produces a monument built to withstand frost, weather and the passage of years. The glass panel is professionally printed with the photograph you supply, the image then protected behind the glass surface. The face you want to see remains visible, whatever the season brings.

The photograph that says what words cannot

For some people, a name alone does not tell the full story. A colour photograph shows them as you knew them. A black-and-white image carries a different quality: quieter, more timeless. Either can be right, depending on the bond you shared and the feeling you want the memorial to hold. You choose which image goes on the monument. That choice is what makes it personal.

Personalisation: beyond the photograph

Alongside the photograph, the monument can be personalised with a name, dates and a short inscription.

Practical things worth knowing before you order

Placing a cremation urn monument takes some preparation. Cemetery regulations vary, and it is worth checking the rules before you commit.

Check with your cemetery or burial authority first

Before ordering this funeral urn monument, we strongly recommend speaking with your cemetery manager or local authority to confirm what is and is not permitted at your specific site. Many cemeteries have requirements around dimensions, materials and design. Some also restrict installation to stonemasons working within their approved local network. Any concrete base slab and pile foundations beneath it will need to be installed by the cemetery itself. If you are planning to site the monument in a private garden rather than a cemetery, a plastic urn vault is available that you can install yourself. Non-standard dimensions can also be discussed.

Proof approval before production

Once you place your order, we will send you a visual proof for approval before anything goes to production. This gives you the opportunity to review the photograph placement, the text and the overall layout, and to request any changes before the monument is made.

If you have questions about photograph requirements, inscription wording or anything else, we are glad to talk it through with you at your own pace.
