Grade 316 is an alloy of iron, chromium, nickel and carbon, and its composition gives it a meaningfully higher resistance to corrosion than standard 304 stainless steel. It holds up to moisture, temperature changes and long-term outdoor placement without requiring any additional protection or maintenance. During production, a directional grain is worked into the surface. This causes light to reflect at varying angles across the steel, producing a natural lustre that polishing alone cannot replicate.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. Sealing is achieved with a high-bond double-sided tape that forms a fully airtight closure. Because the urn is made from grade 316 stainless steel, it is robust enough to hold ashes directly without a bag if you prefer. If there is any possibility you may wish to move the ashes at a later point, using the included ash bag is advisable. The process is straightforward: the bag acts as a funnel during filling, is secured with the included tie, and is tucked inside before the lid is pressed flush and sealed. If you would rather leave the filling to the crematorium or funeral director, that is entirely possible. Should the urn ever need to be reopened for any reason, our technicians can assist.

This urn is suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement. It carries a 10-year guarantee, which reflects the confidence placed in the craftspeople who make it. All memorial products also come with a 30-day return period, so you can receive the urn, hold it and take the time you need before committing. Because each urn is handmade to order in the Netherlands, the lead time is four to six weeks. In practice it is often sooner, but six weeks is the figure we communicate to avoid disappointment.
