It contains a higher proportion of molybdenum than the more common grade 304, which gives it significantly better resistance to moisture, salt and outdoor conditions. The closure is airtight and rated to withstand significant tensile force, so the ashes remain secure over the long term. The urn holds a part of the ashes, not the full volume, and is suitable for a permanent memorial placement, whether on a shelf, in a garden, or at a graveside.

Filling and sealing the urn

All the accessories you need are included with the urn. The Cube is sealed using a double-sided high-bond closure tape that is rated to withstand very high tensile force. Follow these steps to fill and seal it:

• Empty the included ash bag into the urn, leaving a portion outside to act as a funnel, then pour the ashes in through that opening.
• If you prefer not to use the ash bag, use a funnel when pouring to avoid spillage and skip the bag-related steps.
• Seal the ash bag with the included cable tie and tuck it fully into the opening of the urn.
• Make sure the inner seating rim is completely free of dust, grease and moisture. Use the included cloth for this.
• Remove the protective film from the lid and position it carefully against the rim of the opening.
• Press the lid firmly into the rim in one smooth movement. When correctly seated, the lid will sit flush with the base of the urn.

You are also welcome to leave the filling to the crematorium or funeral director. If the urn ever needs to be reopened for any reason, our technicians can do that for you.

Loose ashes or ash bag

You can place the ashes loose directly into the Cube, or use the included ash bag if you think you may want to move the ashes at a later date. Because the Cube is made from grade 316 stainless steel, it is robust enough to hold loose ashes safely. The airtight, high-tensile seal means there is no risk of leakage over time. If there is any possibility of a different final resting place in the future, the ash bag gives you that flexibility.

Making it personal

The clean cube form is a considered choice, but it does not have to be the final word. Laser engraving can be added to the surface of this cremation urn, applied via a computer-controlled beam that works to a very fine degree of precision. The result can be rendered in greyscale or full colour. The sharper the resolution of the image you supply, the crisper the finished engraving will be.

How laser engraving works
