A quiet presence that stays
Some objects earn their place in a room simply by being there. The Memento keepsake urn does exactly that: a small ceramic piece in satin grey that sits with you day after day, holding what it holds, asking nothing in return.
How ceramic becomes something lasting
Ceramic has been worked the same way for centuries, and that continuity is part of what makes it reliable. For the Memento, specially selected raw materials are blended into a clay body, then shaped by hand using a plaster mould. The piece dries slowly before a first firing at 900°C. The satin glaze is then applied, and the urn returns to the kiln for a second firing at 1,050°C. Those two firings are what produce the finish you see: not glassy, not flat, but somewhere between the two. Every piece that leaves the kiln carries that same quality.
Grey that gives you room
Grey is a colour that doesn't crowd. It holds space for your own memories, for the bond you shared, for however you choose to keep that person present in your life. The Memento sits within your home without disappearing into it. It belongs where you place it.
A piece that finds its place
The Memento is designed with clean, contemporary lines that read as an object in their own right. On a windowsill, a bookshelf or a side table, it draws no particular attention from others, but it is always there for you. If you choose to place it alongside a photograph or a meaningful object, it will hold that arrangement with the same quiet presence it brings on its own.
Durability and care
Ceramic is one of the most stable materials used in memorial products. It does not fade, it resists humidity in the air, and it needs very little attention. A dry cloth is usually all that is required.
What to know before you place it
The Memento is intended for indoor use only. The main practical consideration with ceramic is that it is brittle under impact, so it is worth placing the urn somewhere stable and secure rather than somewhere it might be knocked. With that care, ceramic urns can remain in excellent condition for decades. That is not a promise made for this product specifically; it is a property of the material itself, refined through a production process that has changed very little over hundreds of years.
A memorial that belongs to you
The Memento is a keepsake urn, designed to hold a portion of the ashes. You might choose it because you want to keep something close, while another part of the ashes has been placed elsewhere. Or because you want to create a small, personal space with a photograph or an object that belonged to them, something that only you need to understand. If you would like to personalise the urn, an engraving plate can be added when ordering, with space for a name, a date or a short phrase.
If you are not sure whether the Memento is right for you, we are happy to talk it through at whatever pace suits you.
