A butterfly that stays close

If you are looking for something that goes beyond a conventional urn for ashes, something that reflects who your loved one was and honours the bond you shared, this sculpture memorial offers a thoughtful way to hold that memory.

Craftsmanship in metal and wood

The butterfly figure is formed from 2 mm coated steel and finished using powder coating, an electrostatic process in which negatively charged powder is applied to the steel and then cured in an oven to form a hard, durable surface. The wooden base is hand-finished and colour-matched by hand. Because wood is a natural material, you may notice knots, small surface variations or fine hairline cracks that develop with changes in temperature. These are not flaws. They are part of what makes each piece its own.

Two ways to keep someone near

This memorial offers two separate ways to hold a small portion of ashes. Set into the wooden base is a plastic ashes tube that you can fill yourself and seal with the adhesive disc provided. The glass ashes pendant is included alongside the sculpture: a hollow pendant in which you can place a lock of hair, a small piece of fabric or another keepsake that holds meaning. You can wear the pendant yourself, or hang a different item from the dedicated hook on the sculpture. How you use it, and where you keep it, is entirely your choice.

The meaning of the butterfly

The butterfly has long carried significance as a symbol of the soul and the fragility of life, shaped by its brief existence and the extraordinary change it goes through. In many traditions it represents a passage from one life to the next. If your loved one had an affinity with nature, with freedom, or with finding light in difficult moments, the butterfly speaks to that directly. The glass pendant can also be passed to someone else who was close to the person you have lost, a tangible symbol of the connection you all shared.

Practical details: materials, care and use

The steel sculpture is suited to normal indoor use. The wooden base is sensitive to moisture and temperature change, so keep it away from radiators, direct heat sources and damp rooms. Both the ashes tube and the glass pendant are straightforward to fill at home. For the pendant in particular, a cremation jewellery filling kit is recommended, as it gives you the control to work carefully and at your own pace. This cremation urn sculpture is designed for indoor use only.
