A dog who stays, even when they're gone

Losing a dog is not like losing a possession. It's losing a presence, a routine, a particular kind of quiet that doesn't feel the same afterwards. This pet urn for ashes was made for exactly that loss: something to hold the memory visibly, at home, where it belongs.

Hand-modelled by a ceramicist with over 40 years of experience

The artist behind this urn has been modelling ceramic pieces by hand for more than four decades. Each urn is shaped from high-quality clay, and during the firing process a liquid bronze layer is bonded directly to the ceramic surface. This is not a coating applied afterwards. The bronze becomes part of the surface itself, permanent and fully integrated. Because every piece is shaped by hand, no two urns are identical. The one you receive exists in exactly that combination of form and colour only once.

What the design means

The teardrop form has carried meaning for centuries: something precious held close, grief given a shape. The figure of a resting dog at the top translates that into something personal and immediate. Your dog, at rest, at home with you. The built-in candle holder gives the urn a quiet place in your interior, somewhere to pause for a moment without it feeling heavy or demanding. For many people, that kind of fixed point in daily life makes a real difference.

Practical care for a ceramic urn indoors

Ceramic is a stable, durable material when kept in the right conditions. Place this pet cremation urn on a flat, dry surface indoors, away from direct moisture or sharp changes in temperature. A windowsill above a radiator, for instance, is not ideal. The bronze colour is the result of a fired glaze layer and will not fade with normal indoor use. A stable, level surface will also prevent the urn from tipping. The ashes are placed through an opening in the base, which can be sealed with adhesive if you prefer a permanent closure.

From clay to finished urn: a four-week process

The full process, from modelling through to firing, takes around four weeks. If you would like the urn personalised to reflect something specific about your dog, that is possible. A colour detail, a particular element that speaks to the bond you shared, something that makes the piece unmistakably about them. Get in touch to talk through what might be possible, even if you're not yet sure what you're looking for.
