A quiet place for the one who was always there
A cat isn't simply a pet. She's a presence in your daily life, a creature with habits and moods you know by heart, a bond that builds quietly over years. When that presence is gone, her ashes deserve somewhere considered and carefully made.
Shaped by hand, fired twice
This pet cremation urn is made by a single artist, from start to finish, by hand. The process begins with kneading natural clay to work out any air pockets, then building up the form. Once dried, the urn goes into the kiln at around 900°C, a stage known as bisque firing, which hardens the clay and prepares the surface for glazing. The glaze is then applied by hand before the urn returns to the kiln at around 1,200°C. At that temperature the glaze fuses completely into the surface, becoming part of it rather than sitting on top. It is a process that demands precision and patience, and you see both in the finished piece.
White ceramic with a small heart
The urn is made in white ceramic with a single heart as its only decoration. Nothing more is needed. White carries associations of calm and clarity across many cultures, and the heart gives the piece its personal note: this was your cat, and the bond you shared is worth a quiet mark that says so. The clean colour fits any interior without competing with it.
What's practical to know before you order
If you're wondering about the durability of ceramic, the double-firing process produces a hard, water-resistant finish that holds up well under normal indoor conditions. This urn for ashes is designed for indoor use only.
Fragility and placement
Ceramic will break if it falls, so placement matters. Choose a stable, flat surface away from busy edges or narrow shelves. A low, secure spot is always better than a high one. Treat the urn as you would any considered ceramic object in your home and it will last without difficulty.
No two urns are the same
Small natural variations in the firing and glazing process mean that every urn differs slightly in colour, texture and surface character. This is not inconsistency. It is exactly what sets a handmade object apart from a factory piece. The urn you receive is the only one quite like it, just as your cat was.
Personalisation
If you would like to make the urn more personal, engraving is available as an option. A name, a year, or a single date gives the piece a permanence that goes beyond its physical presence. Ask about engraving when you place your order.
If you're looking for something considered and quietly present, a carefully made resting place for your cat's ashes, this urn is exactly that. Get in touch if you have any questions before ordering and we'll talk through the options at your own pace.
