Every piece exists only once
If you are looking for something that genuinely reflects the uniqueness of the person you have lost, a mass-produced piece is unlikely to feel right. This stoneware cremation urn is, by its very nature, a single original. Not as a marketing claim, but as a direct consequence of how it is made.
Handcrafted in Belgium using reactive glazes
The urn is made by hand in Belgium, where the studio runs on 70% solar energy. The glaze process is the defining stage. Reactive glazes are sensitive to temperature variations inside the kiln and cannot be fully controlled, which means every firing produces a result that is entirely its own. The deep blue tones you see are not accidental, they are the product of years of experience working with this type of stoneware. But the precise combination of depth, tone and surface character on each piece will never be repeated. What you receive has no copy.
Compatible with or without an ash bag
The urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag, so you can choose whichever feels most appropriate. The ashes are placed through an opening in the base, which can be sealed with a suitable adhesive if you wish.
The bond you shared deserves something lasting
Blue has long been associated with stillness, depth and the feeling of something without edges or end. What this urn means to you is yours to decide. Perhaps blue was a colour your person was drawn to. Perhaps the quietness of this piece offers some counterweight to everything pressing in on you right now. Both are good reasons to choose it. The urn holds its place, even when you cannot hold yours.
Finding the right place for it at home
Because this is a handmade piece with genuine visual presence, it sits naturally in a home without demanding attention. It is not a decorative object, but it does not need to be hidden either. Some people place the urn somewhere that held meaning for the person who has died. Others keep it somewhere they pass through every day. There is no rule, and you do not need to decide immediately. That choice can be made gently, after the urn arrives.
If you would like to personalise the urn, an engraving plate can be added, carrying a name, a date or a short phrase that means something to you.
Practical notes for indoor use
Stoneware is one of the denser forms of fired ceramic, which makes it more robust than earthenware. For indoor use, this material handles normal fluctuations in temperature and humidity without difficulty. If you are using the urn without an ash bag, avoid leaving standing water inside for extended periods. The glaze layer protects the surface and can be cleaned easily with a dry or lightly damp cloth. This urn for ashes is intended for indoor use only.
If you would like to talk through whether this urn feels right for what you have in mind, we are happy to help at whatever pace suits you.
