Each lantern is finished through a patina bath, a process in which the metal takes on a smooth, even layer of colour. Over time, with continued outdoor exposure, the finish will develop naturally. That gradual change is not a flaw. It is the mark of something that has stood at a real place, in real weather, beside someone who mattered.

Why a lantern matters more than a bare candle

A candle placed directly on a headstone or memorial slab will drip. Wax is notoriously difficult to remove from natural stone and can leave lasting stains. Restoring a marked surface often means professional re-polishing of the entire face. This lantern removes that risk entirely. The flame burns inside a protected enclosure, and the memorial beneath stays exactly as it should be.

Practical design, stable in wind

The form is classical and sits comfortably alongside both traditional and contemporary memorials. On the underside of the lantern there is a recess designed to accept a plug, allowing it to be secured to a natural stone plinth, a headstone, or a columbarium niche wall. That fixing keeps the lantern upright even in strong wind, which matters when a grave is unattended for days at a time.

This lantern is designed exclusively for outdoor use. The patina finish will evolve over time with exposure to sun, rain and frost, which is the nature of the material and part of its character. No sealing or special treatment is needed. If the lantern ever needs cleaning, a damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products, which can disturb the patina layer.
