A still presence, just as he always was

Anyone who has shared their life with a German Shepherd knows how present that dog was. Always close, always watchful, always steady. This cremation urn captures exactly that: not on guard, not tense, but settled and at rest, the way he lay at the end of a long day. That posture is a deliberate choice, and it honours him for it.

Material and finish

The urn is cast in polystone, a dense resin composite that combines solidity with fine surface detail. Each piece is hand-finished in an antique bronze effect, which means no two urns are identical. The depth and variation in the surface come from the hand-finishing process, not from a mould. You can see that in the texture of the coat, the angle of the paws, and the way light moves across the figure. A filling opening of approximately 5 cm on the underside allows the ashes to be placed inside, and the base cap can be sealed with adhesive once closed.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor placement

This urn is frost-resistant and suited to both indoor and outdoor use. If you choose a spot in the garden, on a terrace, or somewhere that meant something to him, it is worth knowing that the antique bronze finish will gradually weather with prolonged exposure to rain and sun. Over time this can deepen the character of the piece rather than diminish it. If you prefer the finish to remain as it leaves us, a sheltered outdoor position or an indoor setting will preserve it best.

Practical considerations for outdoor use

Polystone is a durable, weather-resistant material and performs well outside over time. The antique bronze hand-finish is the element most likely to develop a patina with extended outdoor exposure. This is a natural process, not a fault. To slow it, choose a covered outdoor spot or bring the urn inside during prolonged wet weather.

The place that belongs to him

You are not simply choosing an urn. You are choosing where he stays, in the home or garden you shared. The resting posture of this figure invites you to pause beside it, perhaps to touch it, perhaps just to look. A good urn for ashes does not demand attention, but it gives something back every time you pass it.

Adding a personal touch

If you would like to personalise the urn, engraving is available as an option. His name, a date, or a short phrase that suited him can be added, turning a carefully made object into something that is genuinely and completely yours. If you have questions about what is possible, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace feels right.
