A shimmer that stays
Blue is a colour that is hard to pin down. It suggests stillness, but also depth. If you are looking for a cremation urn that holds both of those qualities, the glassfibre urn 'Sparkling' in blue is worth considering carefully.
Craftsmanship built up in layers
Making this urn is not a quick process, and the result shows that. It begins with a structural core of glassfibre, resin and plaster. Two or three thick coats of glaze, each mixed with plaster, are then applied to that core. Between each coat, the urn is rinsed with water. Colour is added next, then a coat of varnish, then a second coat. After that, the surface is smoothed and polished by hand. What you are left with is a finish that catches light differently depending on where it sits in a room, and that does not dull or flatten over time.
Light, resilient and colour-stable
Glassfibre is lighter than many people expect, and considerably more robust than it looks. The layered construction of resin, plaster and lacquer produces a solid wall that holds its shape and resists deformation. Colour stability is a practical strength of the material: the blue you see now is the blue you will see in ten years. These are not incidental details. They are the reasons this urn for ashes is built to last.
The colour of a bond you shared
Blue means something different to everyone. The sea. The sky. A favourite colour that was simply always there. Choosing this urn is not about selecting a shade that represents grief in some general sense. It is about recognising a colour that might belong to the particular bond you had with the person you are remembering. That is a quieter and more personal reason to choose, and often the right one.
Designed for indoor placement
This urn is intended for use indoors. The polished lacquer finish performs best in a sheltered setting, where the surface is protected from moisture and weathering. Placed on a shelf, mantelpiece or in a dedicated space at home, the colour and gloss remain exactly as intended.
Practical notes on care and use
The combined layers of resin, plaster and lacquer give this glassfibre urn a sturdy, resilient wall. It is suitable for use with or without an ash bag. To keep the finish in good condition, wipe the exterior with a dry or lightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaning products, which can mark the polished surface. The urn is sealed at the base and can be secured with adhesive if you prefer a permanent closure. If you would like to personalise the urn, an engraving plate can be added, carrying a name, a date or a short phrase.
If you are unsure whether this urn is right for what you have in mind, we are happy to think it through with you at your own pace.
