Two or three thick coats of lacquer, each mixed with plaster, are then applied in sequence, with the urn rinsed in water between every layer. Colour is added next, followed by a coat of varnish. A final varnish layer is applied, then the surface is levelled and polished by hand. The result is a finish that is solid, notably light in weight, and resistant to colour change over time. These are qualities you do not automatically find in urns made from heavier or more brittle materials.

Glassfibre carries an unusual combination of lightness and durability. The urn for ashes is suitable for use with or without an ash bag, giving you the freedom to choose whichever approach fits your circumstances and wishes.
