Held in glass, shaped by fire
Some things carry a person's memory quietly and completely. This crystal glass keepsake urn does exactly that. A hand-blown drop of deep black crystal, made to hold a small portion of ashes in a sealed space you can keep at home, somewhere that feels right.
Hand-blown crystal glass, unique by nature
Every Drop is made individually by a glassblower working by hand. The process begins with a bubble of molten glass on a blowing pipe. Layers of coloured glass are added, then decoration and pattern. Finally, the piece is submerged in clear molten crystal, which seals everything beneath a glassy outer layer that brings the deep black colour to the surface. Volume and shape are controlled using a blowing pipe and a wooden mould. The finish, however, is never controlled. It shifts from piece to piece, which means no two are the same. The keepsake urn you receive exists once and once only.
Where the ashes are kept
A cavity sits at the heart of the glass. A small amount of ashes can be placed there, held within the object itself. Filling is done through the base. The cap supplied should be sealed with adhesive once filled, so the contents remain permanently and securely enclosed.
What to expect from crystal glass indoors
Crystal glass is a material that rewards careful handling. That is worth knowing before you decide where this urn for ashes will live in your home.
Placement and fragility
Glass breaks. Place the Drop on a stable surface away from busy areas or anywhere it might be knocked. A shelf, a windowsill, or a quiet corner of a room are all suitable. This keepsake urn is made for indoor use only. Outdoor conditions, moisture and temperature fluctuation are not appropriate for this material.
Making it personal
Because each piece is hand-blown and carries its own character, the Drop is already a personal object before anything is added to it. If you would like to build on that, consider placing it alongside a photograph, a small card, or an object that meant something to the person you are remembering. Something specific to them, rather than something general. That kind of context connects the piece to a particular memory rather than to loss in the abstract.
If you are not sure whether this urn for ashes is what you are looking for, we are happy to talk it through with you at your own pace.
