A lasting place for someone you will always remember
Choosing a grave memorial is not straightforward. You want something that reflects who this person was, strikes the right tone, and will still be standing in decades to come. Granite offers exactly that reassurance: it is exceptionally dense, resistant to frost and rain, and holds its appearance without any maintenance. That is not a marketing claim. It is a property stonemasons have relied on for centuries.
Granite: what the material actually means
This cremation urn gravestone is made from granite, one of the densest and most durable natural stones available. Granite forms deep within the earth's crust under extreme pressure and heat, and that origin shows in its density and resistance to scratching and weathering. The glass text plate creates a clean, contemporary contrast against the natural stone, providing a clear surface for whatever name, date or inscription you choose. The memorial is available in several granite colours, so you can match the tone of the cemetery or follow your own preference.
What this memorial says about the place you are giving
The combination of granite and glass is not simply an aesthetic choice. It is considered and uncluttered, for someone you want to honour with clarity and permanence rather than ornament. If you are looking for something that holds the essence of that person without excess decoration, this memorial fits that intention.
Personalisation via the glass text plate
Text can be applied to the glass plate, making personalisation available as a natural part of the memorial. A name, a date, a short phrase that sounds like them.
A proof is sent before production is finalised
Once you have placed your order, we will send you a proof for approval. This gives you the opportunity to review every detail before the memorial goes into production.
Practical considerations before you order
Installing a grave memorial requires some preparation. Cemeteries do not all follow the same rules, and it is worth establishing what applies to your particular site before you commit.
Check with your cemetery before ordering
Please note: before ordering this urn for ashes, we strongly recommend speaking with your cemetery manager or local authority to confirm what is and is not permitted at your site. Some cemeteries specify permitted dimensions, materials and forms for grave memorials. Certain sites also require that installation be carried out only by locally approved stonemasons. Any concrete base slab and supporting foundation beneath the memorial must be installed by the cemetery itself. If you are planning to place the memorial in a private garden rather than a cemetery, our plastic urn vault is an option worth considering, as it can be installed without specialist help. Non-standard dimensions can also be arranged.
If you have questions about any of this, please do call us or use the contact form and we will talk through the options at your own pace.
