A place that endures
Choosing a memorial for a grave is one of the hardest decisions you will face. You want something that reflects who your loved one was, that will stand firm through the years, and that gives you somewhere real to return to. The Column cremation urn in granite offers exactly that: a still, considered presence that carries quiet meaning.
Granite: a material built to last
Granite is one of the hardest natural stones used in memorial masonry. It resists weathering, holds its colour and texture through every season, and asks very little of you in terms of upkeep. The Column is available in several granite colours, so you can choose the finish that feels right. Whether you prefer a deep, even stone or one with more natural variation in the grain, every option comes from a tightly controlled stonemasonry tradition where proportion and finish determine the result.
Shaped to be remembered
The Column has a clean, upright form that carries a sense of calm without being cold. That is entirely deliberate. The vertical line draws the eye upward, gives the spot a clear character, and makes it recognisable from a distance. The bond you shared deserves a place that stays with you, and that the years cannot diminish.
Engraving: your words set in stone
A name, a date, a line that says everything. Engraving directly into granite is skilled, precise work: letters are cut into the surface and remain legible for generations. Text engraving can be added when you place your order. If you would like help finding the right words, we are happy to work through it with you.
Practical considerations before you order
Before ordering this funeral urn monument, it is worth contacting your cemetery or local authority first. Many cemeteries have specific rules about dimensions, materials and forms that a memorial must meet. Some sites also require that installation is carried out by a registered local stonemason. Any concrete base slab or pile foundation beneath the monument will need to be installed by the cemetery itself. If you are planning to place the Column in a private garden rather than a cemetery, a plastic urn vault is available to make self-installation straightforward. Non-standard dimensions can also be arranged on request.
You approve before anything is finalised
Once you have placed your order, we will send you a proof of the memorial for your approval. This gives you the chance to review every detail, including any engraving, before production begins. If you have questions at any stage, please call us or use the contact form and we will be glad to help.
If you would like to talk through the options for inscription, colour or placement, we are here to help you think it through at your own pace.
