A place that stands the test of time
Choosing a memorial for an urn grave is not a small decision. You are looking for something that does justice to who your loved one was, a monument that will look as dignified in ten years' time as it does the day it is placed. Granite is the most reliable material the stonemason's craft has to offer: dense, exceptionally hard, and built to withstand decades of changing weather.
Why granite holds up where other materials do not
Quarried from deep within the earth's crust, granite is defined by its low porosity and extraordinary hardness. In practical terms, this means moisture does not penetrate the surface, colour does not fade, and the stone retains its character without any maintenance. Available tones range from deep black and dark grey to blue-grey and richer red-brown granites, each with its own grain and presence. That range allows you to choose a stone that suits both the person you are remembering and the setting where the monument will stand.
What to expect when you order
This cremation urn monument is made to order and engraved to your specification. Every detail is agreed with you before anything is committed to stone.
Approval before production begins
Once you have placed your order, we send you a design proof to review. You can check every detail at your own pace: the name, the dates, the wording, the layout. Production only begins once you confirm everything is correct. Nothing is set in stone, quite literally, until you are satisfied.
Practical guidance on siting and regulations
Before ordering this urn for ashes, it is worth speaking to your cemetery manager or local authority first. Many cemeteries have specific rules about dimensions, permitted materials and approved forms for grave monuments. Some sites require that installation is carried out by a stonemason registered in that region. The concrete base slab and any pile foundations beneath it are typically installed by the cemetery itself rather than by us. If you are considering placing the monument in a garden rather than a cemetery, a plastic urn vault is available as an option, which you can install yourself without specialist tools. Non-standard dimensions can also be accommodated on request.
The engraving is where it becomes yours
Engraving is where this cremation urn monument becomes personal to you. A name, a date, a line that describes the bond you shared: carved into granite, it will remain legible for as long as the stone stands. You choose the text, the typeface and the layout, and we present a proof for your approval before anything is finalised. If you would like inspiration for wording, example inscription texts are available to browse.
