A lasting place for someone you will never forget

Choosing a gravestone urn is not a straightforward decision. You want something that reflects who your loved one was, that suits the place where they rest, and that holds its dignity for many years to come. Granite is one of the most reliable materials in the memorial industry for exactly that reason, and the reasons are concrete.

Granite: durability rooted in how it forms

Granite is a natural stone shaped under extreme heat and pressure deep within the earth's crust. That process makes it exceptionally hard, frost-resistant, and able to withstand years of exposure to the elements. A stonemason works the material with precision tools to achieve clean surfaces, clear contours, and sharp engravings. That skill shows in the finished piece. Granite is available in several colours, from light grey and black to deeper brown tones and blue-grey varieties, so you can choose a finish that feels right for the person and the place.

What to arrange before you order

A granite cremation urn monument is a long-term commitment. A little preparation beforehand makes the whole process smoother and avoids disappointment later.

Check with the cemetery first

Important: before ordering this urn for ashes, we strongly recommend speaking with your cemetery manager or local authority to understand what is and is not permitted at your chosen site. Many cemeteries specify permitted dimensions, materials, and designs, and some require that memorials are installed only by approved local stonemasons. Any concrete base slab and pile foundations beneath the gravestone must be installed by the cemetery itself. If you are placing the gravestone urn in a private garden, our plastic urn vault is an alternative worth considering as it can be installed without specialist help. Non-standard dimensions can also be discussed.

The engraving that stays

The inscription on a memorial is the connection between what you shared and what others will see. A name, a date, a phrase that is exactly right for this person. Bespoke wording and custom dimensions are always open for discussion.

Approval before production

Once you have placed your order, we will send you a proof for approval before production begins. This gives you the chance to review every detail and confirm everything is exactly as you want it.

If you have questions about choosing a colour, wording an inscription, or the practical side of placement, we are here to help. You do not have to work through it alone.
