Patina: colour applied by hand, unique to every urn

The colour of each urn comes from patina, an oxide layer applied to the bronze by hand. Because this is done individually, no two urns look exactly alike. You choose between green and brown.

• The green patina is a living layer that settles and evens out gradually over the years. Clean gently with a soft cloth, water and mild soap. Avoid scrubbing, as the layer is delicate.
• The brown patina is finished with a light wax coat that halts further oxidation. Indoors, occasional dusting is all it needs. For outdoor use, the wax coat benefits from attention every two years or so: rub in beeswax, allow it to absorb, then buff to a finish.

A shape that holds its own meaning

The triangle is not a random form. Three sides, each supporting the others, creating a structure that holds because of how the parts connect. The process is straightforward: place the included ash bag inside, leave a portion protruding to act as a funnel, pour in the ashes, close the bag with the included cable tie and tuck it fully inside. If you prefer not to use the ash bag, a separate funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Once filled, ensure the inner seating edge is completely free of dust, grease and moisture using the cloth provided, then press the cap firmly into place in a single movement. A correctly seated cap sits flush with the surface. If you would prefer the crematorium or funeral director to fill the urn, that is entirely possible. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, our technicians can do that for you.

Practical considerations for this urn for ashes

Because each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands, the lead time is four to six weeks. Despatch is often possible sooner, but we give a six-week estimate to avoid disappointment.
