When a shape carries what words cannot

You are not choosing this urn because it is expected of you. You are choosing it because it reflects something true about the person you have lost: their quietness, their presence, the life they lived. The lotus is one of the oldest symbols in human culture, and what makes it meaningful is something specific: it grows from deep water upwards towards the light. That movement, from depth to light, gives this urn a quietly held significance that sits with you over time.

How this urn is made

Ceramic demands precision at every stage, and the process behind the Lotus urn reflects that. Carefully selected raw materials are combined to create a workable ceramic body. From a technical drawing, a plaster mould is formed, and each urn is cast from that mould, left to dry thoroughly, and smoothed by hand. The first firing takes place at 900°C. The glaze is then applied before a second firing at 1,050°C. That second firing is not a formality: it bonds the glaze to the body and gives the beige surface its depth and evenness. You see the result in every finished piece.

Living with the Lotus urn

The beige glaze sits naturally alongside light, neutral interiors. It holds its own beside a photograph, a candle, or a plant that reminds you of the person who mattered. The Lotus cremation urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag, and is designed for indoor placement.

Placement and care

Ceramic is durable, but it asks for a sensible position in the home. Place the urn for ashes on a flat, stable surface where it will not be knocked or tipped. Keep it away from direct moisture and avoid placing it where it may be subject to sudden temperature changes, as these can affect the glaze over time. Cared for in this way, the urn will hold its finish and its presence for many years.

Personalisation

If you would like to make this urn specific to the person you are remembering, engraving is available as an option. A name, a set of dates, or a short phrase that captures something you want to keep close: personalisation like this makes the urn a point of recognition for everyone who knew them, not only for you.

Take the time you need to decide whether the Lotus urn in beige feels right. If you have any questions, we are happy to help you think it through.
