A colour that says something
Red is not a neutral choice. It speaks of energy, of presence, of a person who filled a room. If you are looking for a cremation urn that reflects who someone truly was, the ceramic 'Lily' in red is worth considering.
How this urn is made
Every urn begins with carefully selected raw materials, blended into a ceramic body. From a technical drawing, a plaster model is produced, which then forms the basis for a casting mould. Each urn is poured individually into that mould, left to dry, and hand-finished to smooth the surface. It goes into the kiln at 900°C for the first firing. The glaze is then applied by hand, and the urn is fired again at 1,050°C. That second firing locks in the deep, stable red you see in the finished piece. The colour does not fade or shift over time because the process is precise at every stage.
What the lily carries
The lily has long been associated with remembrance. On an urn in this depth of red, that symbolism takes on a different quality: not the pallor of loss, but the full presence of a life lived. The bond you shared with the person you are remembering deserves a form that reflects that, not one that diminishes it.
Practical details
This funeral urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag, which removes one small practical concern at a moment when you have enough to think about. The base cap can be sealed with adhesive if you wish to close the urn permanently.
Placement and care
Ceramic is a robust material, but it rewards careful placement. This urn is designed for indoor use and should be kept away from prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. Both will affect the glaze and the depth of colour over time. A stable, dry spot indoors, a windowsill that catches the light without direct sun, a shelf among books and objects that belonged to the person you are remembering, will keep the urn in good condition for years. Treated with reasonable care, a ceramic urn is exceptionally long-lasting.
Choosing where it goes
The place you choose for this urn for ashes can do more than mark a resting point. A view your person loved, a shelf among their things: that kind of placement turns a space into something recognisable, a quiet point of connection rather than simply a location.
Personalisation
If you would like to add a name, a date or a short phrase, an engraving plate can be added to this urn. It is worth taking a little time over the wording: sometimes a single line says more than a longer inscription.
If you have questions about this urn or would like help thinking through placement or personalisation, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace suits.
