A yin yang that holds more than it shows
Some urns announce themselves. This one simply sits with you. Shaped as a yin yang in deep bronze ceramic, it works as a piece of art as much as a resting place, present in a room without needing a label or an explanation.
Hand-modelled by an artist with over 40 years of experience
The artist behind this cremation urn has worked with ceramic for more than four decades. That history is visible in the result. Each urn is hand-modelled from high-quality clay, and during the firing process a liquid bronze layer bonds directly to the ceramic surface. This produces a depth of colour that cannot be replicated by spraying or painting. Because every piece is formed by hand, each one carries its own small variations in surface and form. No two are identical, and that is not a flaw. It is the point.
What the yin yang symbol carries
Yin and yang describe the idea that opposites do not cancel each other out but belong together. Day and night. Giving and receiving. Presence and absence. If the relationship you shared was one where you complemented each other, where two lives shaped each other over time, this symbol holds that meaning honestly. It has done so for centuries, and it does so here.
Practical reassurance for a decision made once
Choosing a funeral urn is not something you do twice. Clear, concrete information matters, and there are a few things worth knowing before you decide.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
The fired ceramic body and bonded bronze layer make this urn suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement. If you are placing it outside, a sheltered position is advisable. Prolonged direct exposure to frost or standing water can affect the surface over time. A covered spot, or one with natural overhead protection, will preserve the finish considerably longer.
Production time and personalisation
Because each urn is hand-modelled and kiln-fired individually, the process from shaping to completion takes approximately four weeks. Personalisation is available: if you would like to add a name, a date or a short phrase, this can be incorporated during production. Raise it at the point of ordering so the artist can work it into the piece from the start rather than apply it afterwards.
If you would like to talk through the personalisation options or have questions about placement, get in touch and we can go through it together at whatever pace suits you.
